Miguel's Guitar Recital

My nephew Miguel is turning out to be a pretty good guitar player, if only he would practice some more (hint, hint, otoy). Anyway, yesterday (March 2, 2008), he had a recital and here's a video of him playing.

Auntie Delan's birthday

It's been too long since the last post, and what I'm about to post isn't new anymore. These photos were taken during Auntie Delan's birthday celebration last July 9. I've been meaning to post them but I just haven't been able to until now. Enjoy.

A commencement

Daniel graduated from grade school yesterday, and so now he's on his way to high school. Sometimes, when I look at him (and the kids), I'm awed at how much he's (they've) grown. Papa went with them to the graduation, and had a good time.

Daniel graduated with honors. He received five medals. If I sound like a proud aunt, it's because I am! Here are some pictures:

A golden birthday

Kuya Boy celebrated his 50th birthday last March 17. We got together for dinner at their place. If I may say, he doesn't look 50 at all. It was a fun night, as usual. Great to have a get together always. Still not complete with all the people here, but was fun fun fun anyway.

I have just a few photos, but when Cat passes on her photos to me, I'll make sure to post them too.

christmas and new year in baler

Ben and I spent Christmas in Baler with Papa, then Kuya Tony arrived for the New Year. We then celebrated New Year's Eve at Kuya Boy's house by the beach. It was fun, and here are some photos from that night.

A birthday and a despedida

Last Tuesday, Papa celebrated his 71st birthday. Auntie Nena treated him to a big birthday bash at Marina restaurant in Roxas Blvd. At the same time, the party served as a despedida gig for Bab, Ariel and Angelo who are leaving this Saturday (26 Nov) to migrate to Canada. A lot of people from the family came (though some didn't make it), so it was a lot of fun, but the end was kind of sad too because we were saying goodbye to Bab and her family.
Anyway, it was great to see everyone. Here are some pictures from that night for those who weren't there. I took some videos too, but I don't have the hardware to transfer them into the PC, so bear with the pics.

Celebrating the moon

'Twas a fun Sunday (25 Sept) when we celebrated the moon festival. I heard we're a week late in celebrating, but geez, who cares...the important thing is we had lots of fun. Unfortunately, it was just mainly Auntie Delan's family and our family who were able to make it. But, that didn't make it any less fun, although we could've had even much more fun if there were more people that came.
Then, later that afternoon, Kuya Boy, Kuya Toti, Jojo, Kuya Tony, Cat, LJ (Jojo's nephew) and I went to Quiapo...guess what we did there...
So, following are a few photos from that gathering...(we ought to do it yearly because it was so much fun!)
Waiting for the games to begin...

The oldest turns 78!

The oldest member of the Tan Family celebrated her 78th birthday last July 9. A celebration was held at Emerald Restaurant, and while not all family members could make it, it was still a night of fun and laughter. Red was the color of night of course and here are some photos taken that night...this is three generations of Tans:
